Sophie Legrand, originnaly from Belgium, effortlessly combines multiple talents. She is first of all painter specialising in the manipulation of natural material and the production of canvas on canvas.

 

Today, Sophie focuses on canvas, working essentially with natural materials (crystal, volcanic rock, marble, gold,…) and has found her niche working with canvas on canvas. Natural material makes up our natures, our bodies and our earth. We identify ourselves with it and it represents us by means of its colours, shapes and smells.  Her work give a new shape and a new symbolic meaning, and to highlight in it what is the most beautiful, neutral and pure…
